YAY!

His hands were firmly packed in the pockeds of his skinny jeans, he was a bit more serious than he usually was, he wasn't really used to making grande gestures with the main component of apologies. He usually just skipped that step, no harm done. But this was Tyler's sister, for the love of god, and if he was ever planning on setting things right with him again, he simply had to do this. His sister, god, what the bloody hell was he thinking? No, actually, he wasn't thinking at all, that made a lot more sense. He should have remembered the face of the girl before him, he should have known he had seen her in some of Tyler's photos on Facebook, he should have.. he should have known. So now he had to do things the hard way, he had to pay her a visit, tell her he was sorry and make things okay between himself and this girl before he could even think of settling things with Tyler. Shit. He shouldn't have been such a drunken idiot. He shouldn't have consumated so much alcohol. Or, at the least, he should have stayed with Thea. Should have had hot and smoking sex with her or, possibly, should have just rolled on the bed with her a bit and then drop as if dead from the poison in his veins. He didn't even remember the scenario that went down between him and Zoe, he remembered waking up as the sun was rising with a hangover the size od Mount Everest and a really sore throat. Three days later, Ty confronts him. And now? Well, now he was going to do the right thing. For once. He walked up the few stairs to end up standing on the wooden porch, her silhouette on the swing chair. He cleared his throat to catch her attention. »Hey,« he mumbled awkwardly. He was not used to this, not in the slightest. »Uhm, nothing crazy this time, I just came to apologize.. for the idiotic crap I pulled the other night.« He was quite uncomfortable, moving the weight of his entire body from one leg to the other, nervously catching her eye and quickly loosing the eye contact again. Jesus.

this post is for oh dear dylan i've got no idea how many words is in this post, i'm listening to nothing atm and <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

she was absorbing the sun’s energy that was shining on the porch beside her sorority’s villa. one of the girls, her sister, told her that apparently it’s healthy if you do it at the right time and no too much. so she decided to try - she had nothing to lose, anyway. from her desk, she picked up the notebook she was using to play with the math’s problems. it was her way of fun, when there was a lazy summer afternoon and there was nothing better to do. her classes ended way earlier, but she soon realized not everyone on this island has as good schedule as she did.

so, at this time of the day, house was almost completely empty. and for once, perhaps, she liked it a little bit. she felt like something’s going to happen and she could not afford an audience for that. well, here she had it now, and a twisted smile got onto her face as she was watching him getting closer to kappa’s home. she could not forget his blonde hair and even now, when he wasn’t drunk, his movement was almost the same, there was just so much more pride added to it. she understood who he was now. and tyler really gave him a piece of his mind - it wasn’t suprising her, at all.

she dropped her sight back on her notebook when he got closer, pretending she did not see him, her facial expression became serious. now it was her time to pull a little prank on him. her voice cut through the wind’s soft breeze, and she looked up slightly, just so he could see his face. he sounded like he’s never done such a thing before - funny. uncomfortable. and zoey enjoyed it to the very limit.

she dropped the pen on the soft chair and closed up the notebook, and after a few moments of silence, she sighed. and finally looked up to catch his eyes, still full with unease with what he was doing. she smiled “crazy? she asked “you’ve got no idea, right?” her eyebrow raised up, she sounded, perhaps, a little too dramatic for her taste “what happened, i mean.” she shook her head still looking at him “how can you expect me to forgive you what you can’t even remember?” she paused for a little while “but you did piss me off. a lot. and if you’re here just because my brother told you so, you’ll piss me off even more.”

he did it again without even knowing; he just assumed she'd accept his apology, hej ust figured with a guy as charming as he was, it wouldn't really be a problem. The second she looked at him, it was obvious it wouldn't be nearly as easy. She had that kind of look in her eyes, the kind which just made him more and more nervous by the second. He raised his left hand, he ran his fingers through his hair to calm down a bit; god, he was so obviously not good at this. »I mean, I–« No, he really didn't have a clue as to what went down; other than what Ty told him in his angry righteous lecture. »I, well, your brother told me..« He shrugged, he had nothing else to say about the subject. He didn't remember and it wasn't exactly something he could fix. He had a few flashes, mostly from when he was obviously swimming in his skinny jeans, other than that he had nothing. He wasn't sorry about not remembering, tho, he was sorry about being a dick in the first place. Tyler didn't tell him everything, but what he did tell him was enough; he obviously shamed and upset the girl and he was here to set things right. He did get credit for that, did he not? »Well, I – obviously I wasn't my very charming self,« he tried to make a joke, an uncomfortable smile appearing on his face. Oh, this wasn't working, oh god, this was worse than he ever expected. It was like excusing himself just wasn't in his programme, like he was completely unable to do so. Jesus Christ. »But I'm not – I'm not here because of Tyler.« He paused, he felt like she would know if he was lying. »I mean, yeah, he's pissed off at me, too, but I have to clean up one mess at a time and I guess..« He shrugged; oh, this did not happen to him very often. He always knew exactly what to say. Every single time.. And now he was completely lost. He had nothing. »I really am sorry, Zoe,« he finally said after a longer pause in which he tried to think of the only important thing he was trying to say.

“my brother told you what?” she really enjoyed this. it was like she finally found out the spot he was weak at. if she said she wasn’t a tad disappointed at how convincing he was, she would be lying. but nevertheless, it was still funny to watch him uncomfortably leaning from left to right, trying to find words that would fit the moment. since when was she so mean? was there something in the cookies she ate this morning? she wouldn’t be suprised if her sisters wanted to make her a little more wicked. but of course, this wasn’t true. maybe it was just his silly self, that made her a little less understanding than how she usually was at topics like these.

but she also knew, if dylan wouldn’t have at least a little bit of a good terms with tyler, he wouldn’t come here without any bruise - she’s always wondered what kind of a connection those two had. but she respected her brother’s privacy, or at least, she tried to do that.

as he was trying to sound funny, again pulling out a flirting joke, her sight almost became a glare directed right into his eyes “that’s not funny, at all.” she sighed “you still don’t get it, do you?” maybe she should finally stop pretending that she was still mad at him. at the end, she had to give him the credit for making that night a little better than it was. did not tyler mention him that, too? hmm.. interesting.

she rolled her eyes at his next answer. of course he was here because of her brother. even a stupid creature like a chicken would know that. did her consider her being less smart than a chicken? a mistake, another one. “so you guess that just looking at me with puppy eyes and pretty smile is going to make me forgive you, right?” she finished his statement and she did not even try to hide the irony in her words. he was still an idiot. idiot with puppy eyes and pretty smile, though. no, wait. why was she thinking that? oh, hell.

she shrugged at his apology, staying quiet. she wasn’t ready to forgive him. not yet.

»Well..« He paused, a confused expression on his face. What was this game? Didn't she.. well, she was the one who told Tyler, she was the only one there beside him, right? So she told him what happened and Ty told Dylan, probably with quite a lot more pissed tone then the one he imagined Zoe using. Of course he might have imagined wrong. »Well, he told me about.. what happened the other night. The.. large bits I fail to remember.« He cleared his throat again, god, this was too nervewrecking for him. He wasn't the type to get nervous, not even on stage, not with new people, not when people were yelling at him, not when he knew he did something wrong and was discovered. He was never this unease and it was quite the sensational feeling. Definately something he'll be grateful for later. Definately something he didn't at all want to feel now. »I – I'm sorry.« That was the point his heart started racing. Shit, shit, what the fuck did he do to her? He obviously wasn't just a drunken idiot, if he was just that he doubted she'd react the way she did. Did he.. did he, like, hurt her? Do something to her that she wouldn't tell Ty because it was.. too painfull? At that moment his face turned completely pale. He was quite sure je could never hurt a girl, not one as sweet as her anyway, but at the same time he remembered pretty much nothing of that night. Shit, he really did something extremely bad, didn't he? All the ego just kind of left his body at that moment, all the self-admiration, everything that made him who he was and all there was left was.. basically a scared little boy. »I..« This was not good, this was not good at all, he couldn't even remember when was the last time he felt pressure like this. He didn't know what to say, what to do, how to act, everything just started getting more and more blury. why, that was the only thing going through his head. Why the fuck?! »I don't know what to say, Zoe, I – I didn't mean to – please, look, I'll do anything it takes, really.«

this post is for oh dear dylan i've got no idea how many words is in this post, i'm listening to nothing atm and HE'S GETTING THERE

she let out a quiet sigh. supposedly, he was not man enough to tell her exactly what’s he heard from her brother. how disappointing. but she did not feel like pressuring him on with giving her the answer she really wanted - it wasn’t really any point into it anymore, really. the whole situation was so awkward for him already, and even though she could be a little more mean, she stopped. she knew where the limits are. and she had no intentions of hurting him. those two slaps she gave him in the water were more than enough.

she observed how his face got whiter and whiter. gosh, what the hell was he making up in her mind? did tyler really not tell him enough for him to react this way? this was way too funny. oh, how she enjoyed he didn’t remember anything. “why are you saying you’re sorry?” she asked. her face softened. she didn’t want him to faint on the porch of her own sorority. jesus christ, this guy had an imagination. was he a writer or something?

his next plea made her satisfied enough. that was exactly what she’s wanted to hear from him. “you sure?” she said, with a little of doubt in her voice, as she shrugged and opened her notebook on the next page of the math problems she was solving. she put it on the desk infront of her and rotated it for three hundred eighty degrees so it was facing the chair in front of her “alright. solve this for me.” she looked at him with a little of expectation in her eyes - she didn’t really know how much of a math person he was. but that was what she wanted him to do. he said he’d do anything, right?

He opened his mouth, only half-sounding an »I–« but again he was lost for words. He was nervous, totally out of his game and absolutely not expecting a shocker like this one. He felt like he might have hit her with a shovel and raped her multiple times perhaps.. and he didn't even remember. Was that him? Would he be capable of anything like that? Usually when he was drunk he just dozed off somewhere.. what if this time he actually.. did something? Something really bad? And then her face kind of softened, he couldn't catch up with the change straight away, tho. It took him a few moments, actually, it took him a lot. And then she posed the question and opened up a book and suddenly everything was extremely weird. His face frowned. »Hold on.. what?« His eyebrows raised quickly in the moment of complete confusion. This.. made no sense what so ever. He took a few steps towards, leaning over the opened book. Maths. He was extremely bad at maths, obviously, otherwise he probably wouldn't have picked acting as a profession. »You want me.. to solve a math problem?« His eyes found hers. What.. what was this? What game was she playing here? Was she.. Was she really..? »Zoe Grimes,« he started off slowly, quietly, leaning his head to the right, »are you making fun of me?« A soft smile instantly appeared on his lips because this.. this was not about something he had done. This was actually the furthest thing form it! This was her getting back at him! This was her little vendetta plan! And he totally fell for it! »You.. you are.. you're twisted, you know that!« He giggled, taking the pen in his hands, writting down on the empty piece of paper: I don't know maths, but I know I'd like to take you out to dinner, sliding it over the table to her, turning it so she could see it, still smiling. This girl was pretty much wha he'd call a perfect match.

this post is for oh dear dylan i've got no idea how many words is in this post, i'm listening to nothing atm and I'M SORRY I RUSHED WRITING THIS SO IT'S BAD. BUT ILY.

he’s finally got it. finally. it was entertaining to look at how his totally pale expression started to frown first, then he got confused - it was exactly what she was trying to do. oh, how much she enjoyed he fell for it so badly. she was hardly holding a laugh that started getting bigger and bigger. “yes that’s exactly what i want you to do,” she kept on a serious face, even though all inside her was laughing. will he seriously go and do it?

next statement was enough for her. she couldn’t hold her laughter inside herself anymore. “well thank you for the first compliment i actually like, dylan.” she said through her laughing, still not believing he got it all so late, “don’t get me wrong though - it was just a payback for your little prank you can’t really remember. but hey, if you did, i wouldn’t be able to do this,” she shrugged, smiling. the tension has worn down, and she looked up to him, trying to figure out if he actually went and try to solve the problem she’s given him.

of course not. the turned piece of paper directed to her, was not numbers and the final result. it was a simple question. a question zoey did not know how to answer, though. on the back of her mind, there still was dorothea’s face and she did not want to upset her, or anything like that. she still was her best friend. or so zoey thought. but, on the other hand, how could a dinner hurt anyone, really?

she leaned down to the paper, writing down a note back to him: if i say yes, will you bring me the result of the problem i just gave you? she rotated it back at him, with a tiny wicked grin on her face. “you said you’d do anything, remember?” she said out loud, looking at him with a spark of a dare-me look. this just got all sorts of interesting.

The level of ease he was feeling was getting bigger and bigger and he could literally feel how he was getting back to his normal self. God, she totally messed with his head and left him speechless for a while there, so, naturally, it was perhaps about the time to leave those games at the side. He probably couldn't handle her manipulating him like that again, he was usually the one tricking others. He still did believe she was way out of her game with this, he also believed he could best her, but that was for another time perhaps. The time when everything calms down and becomes extremely boring. Then they can go back to mind games and he can get his well deserved pay back. The only thing he really wanted to do now was taking her to dinner, to be honest. She slid the paper back to his side and he anxiously read the written words. Then he looked up at her, a kind of disbelief in his eyes, saying only, »Really She was aware, he would think, that he was a theatre student? That the last time he did math was about a lifetime ago and that when he realized he scored a D- on his last test, getting him to pass maths altogether, he got high on dope and burned said test with his Bob Dylan lighter. Where the hell was that lighter, anyway? A while back he had a search party, then he eventually just forgot about it. He'll buy another. »I mean.. I can try, but I can't guarantee anything good,« he finally shrugged, taking the text book on the table into his hands, marking it with the piece of paper that was previosly going from him to her and back again. »So I'll just pick you up, say, tomorrow at eight?« His lips formed a whicked, satisfied smile; by the time she won't be able to catch him off his game, not anymore, not ever. By the time he'll be wrapping her around his little finger and she'll totally love it. The only problem now was, well, probably Thea. They were friends on facebook, he saw that. He probably shouldn't tell her he was going out with Zoe, just in case. Wouldn't want her to freak out or anything.

she raised up an eyebrow again, smiling. so, math wasn’t exactly the subject he loved as much as she did. which was even better, though. she knew it won’t be easy enough this way, but it shouldn’t be that hard either. it wasn’t university level math on hard level - or well, for her it was not. she nodded after a while, “you’ll have one rule i don’t suggest you to break. no help. just you. and don’t think i will not know someone helped you - i’m pretty good at getting that one right,” she shrugged, still with a smile on her face. “what is your major, anyway? drama writing? poetry? i noticed you have a lot of imagination,” she giggled, an answer she wanted to know ever since she saw his pale face earlier.

“it doesn’t need to be anything good. it just has to be yours.” she simply rejected the tiny excuse she heard from everyone more and more recently. most of the people she knew were avoiding maths. nobody really liked and saw its purpose the way she did. there was only a few people she knew that enjoyed maths on the same level she did. dorothea was one of them. but she was a perfect child - she could enjoy anything she was doing.

she observed how he took away the notebook, and for a moment she wanted to ask for it back - but then she realized that maybe it would be a good help for him to solve the problem she’s given him. in that book, there were so many tricks and shortcuts she’s come with, and if he was smart enough... he could use them on the wise way. and she’d be impressed. very impressed in fact.

her eyes got a little bigger, when he suggested the time of their dinner “will you have enough time to solve this in a day?” she asked. she was a little skeptical. she didn’t want him to cheat, but she would know it by just looking at the notebook next day. “i mean, if you’re sure about it, why not. i have nothing on my schedule tomorrow. even though, if i do, i’ll just... i don’t know, message you on facebook or something?” she was playing around again, giving out an option of bailing, even though she had no intentions to do it. she enjoyed his company, that she knew for sure now - maybe more than she actually should.

»Oh, God..« A trail of frustration appeared on his face. There was this guy in his fraternity, a great guy, he studied maths and he could help him. He was actually thinking of getting back to the house and asking him to solve the problem for him, but Zoe was being so very persistant. God damn it. Could she really tell? Surely she was just bluffing. »Oh, you're good,« he smiled at her as she read him like an open book. He was pretty obvious, wasn't he? Then again it didn't bother him as much, theatre was his life and if that was something he had written on his forehead, he was fine with that. »Theatre arts,« he nodded, knowing that she still didn't hit the targed – but in all honesty, she came really close, especially for someone who he had just now met for the second time in his life. They must have spent, what, less than an hour with each other in their entire lives.. That thought was quite interesting. He found her so amazingly appealing although they didn't know each other at all. At all. But his sixth sense was usually spot on when it came to seeing the nature of people and understanding how they function. He was quite positive he was right about her; she was a beautiful girl who will prove to be great company. He knew it. »You want it to be mine he repeated with a confident smirk on his face. Oh, she was totally going to fall for him, he knew it; the problem was he didn't realize that at the same time he was laughing about her upcoming affections for him, he had no idea he would also.. get his feet swept off the ground. That was something he could never expect; oh, how wrong he was. »Oh yes, I'm a math genius, I was just playing ignorant,« he put the words in a sarcastic tone, just to make sure she understands how he was really not interested in doing homework for her. But he did say he'd do anything, plus she had those pretty big eyes and that amazingly wide smile and she just kind of touched his heart in a way he couldn't, at the time, understand yet. »Are you saying you want to be facebook friends?« His eyebrows raised, the smirk on his face remained. That was a cute and completely subtle way of getting new social media friends, so, naturally, he needed to make her feel at least a bit awkward about it.

this post is for oh dear dylan i've got no idea how many words is in this post, i'm listening to nothing atm and

“god won’t help you this time,” she smiled at him, not hiding her wickedness “even though, you never know. the numbers are as close we can get to his handwriting,” she didn’t expect him to understand this statement. nobody ever did. even thea. and she didn’t really bother with it - it was her own belief and she had a right to believe in anything she’s wanted to. but that surely wasn’t the thing they were talking about here.

she wasn’t sure if she really meant that she was good at guessing what his major was, but at the same time, his answer made her feel a little proud of herself - she usually wasn’t so close to being right about what people study, which was, believe it or not her very bad habit. she remembered how her and another girl of sorority stayed up all night last year, just to guess who was studying what in her brother’s fraternity - it was so stupid and silly, but she had a lot of fun, and so did the girl she was doing it with - she wondered where she is now, and if she’s okay, or if, perhaps she left this institute for something else. she did not see her face ever since she stepped on this island. and she’s met almost everybody she’s known - only people that she had to meet yet were the pledges for this year. oh, how she looked forward for baptism.

his voice woke her up from her mind, and she smiled, looking at him with a soft spark in her eyes “yes, i do. you’ll understand it when you hand it back to me,” she turned her head on right a little bit and shrugged, as she would want to say just look forward to it and do your best. she wasn’t sure he’d do it. but she really hoped for it. his sarcasm made her laugh. of course he was not good at maths, he told her that on the paper earlier - or well, at least he told her that he doesn’t do maths. which was pretty close to not being maths expert. “well then is settled. where are you picking me up?” right. she didn’t want him to pick her up right in front of the audience of her sisters. like bathroom walls weren’t enough already. and what were those psalms or whatever about her? sigh, silly people.

his next question made her feel a little uncomfortable. here we go, he was doing it again. she did not know what thea would say on their sudden friendship on facebook, but at the same time - well, it didn’t really matter at the moment. “i said i will message you, not add you as a friend. but, well i don’t mind being facebook friends with you if that’ll make you feel special” she didn’t want to wait for payback here. at the end, he was the one starting it.

tag, zoey the flame

He was already forming a half-smile, knowing she was by all means right, then he frowned immediately as she spoke again. »What?« He thought they were at the same page, but right now he really didn't understand the context of her words. Was she perhaps a religious maniac? Probably not, that was why nothing really made sense in the first place. He wasn't the believer kind, he really wasn't, which was, perhaps, also part of the problem. His face flattened, finally, just to show her he doesn't really care and that she doesn't need to speak about such heavy topics if she doesn't want to. He didn't really need an explanation, he was, after all, known for saying dumb shit here and there, too. »Alright,« he nodded, still feeling quite satisfied; her words were, he imagined, carrying hidden meaning. She wanted it to be his, a phrase that in her mind perhaps meant nothing, meant everything in his. »Well, I can pick you up here.. if that isn't, hm, a problem in any way.« He knew how girls in sororities were, they got totally crazy when a girl went out with a boy, they were the ones that made sure rumours traveled with the speed of light and they often made what was a simple dinner look like a total betreyal. He was sure news would travel to Thea's ears in a matter of seconds, too, so he added after a few seconds: »Or, you know, I can just meet you at the place. Do you know the Red Lobster? It's on the beach, best sea food on the island, I shit you not.« Red Lobster was the best thing; they had every single sea food a person could think of and although it looked like a ruin, it was actually a pretty cozy place with great staff, low prices and neverending plates of delicious goodnes. »Don't do me any favours, love, if you don't want to be facebook friends, I can understand that,« he made a dramatically offended face, obviously acting for the sake of entertainment, not because he'd actually want her to think he took it as an insult.

this post is for oh dear dylan i've got no idea how many words is in this post, i'm listening to nothing atm and

she giggled, seeing his expression frowning at what she said about the meaning of the numbers. his question was rejected by a simple “don’t try to understand it, nobody does.” and that’s where she drew a line of the topic. she really did not want to explain how a geniuses like her understand math and its purpose and about everything that coexist with humans, even if we they not see it with their own eyes - she wasn’t some kind of a creeper that would bown down to religion, though. she just believed something was there. and that math, it’s numbers had their own meaning.

she smiled, hearing his suggestion about picking her in front of a house and then fixing it with a simple ‘yeah, we can just meet up there’. to be completely honest, she agreed. she did not want an audience, especially not from her sisters, she did not want the rumors that were not true, at all. so she said, “i’ll just swing by there at eight. and of course i know where that place is. i just never really got inside it.” yeah, she was used to the prestigious restaurants and places like that, not some kind of low priced food. but if he wanted to go there, she wanted to give it a try. and she expected less eyes on them there, as well. “don’t be late. i’ll leave after one minute.” she warned him. if there was something she hated, that would be being late. only person that found her weak spot around this was who else - but thea? she smiled to herself.

“alright, message it is for now then,” she said with a smile on her face. she’s not going to do it. not unless he explicitely asks her to do so. she’s not going to fall for his games, anymore. at least that’s what she thought. she stood up, walking past him, to the doors of her sorority’s villa. “alright then, dylan. i’ll tell my brother we settled things down. thank you for paying a visit - i give you a little credit for that.” she opened the doors, but before she would let herself go in, she gave him one final look “and thanks for making that night better, again. i mean. you were an idiot but you were a cute idiot.” she jumped to the main hall of their house, closing the doors, beating herself up - why the hell she said that?
