her ears had been on guard through the whole lecture because it was interesting and because they had to be. history of law was, after all, an important part of her education and the professor, mr. posen, made it easy to understand. or maybe that was just josephine and her keen mind. however, it was quite obvious that most of the students were observing more than listening; she noticed many hungry looks feasting on professor's body and it was disgusting. people really had no manners whatsoever these days, even the chivarly was slowly dying because boys thought it was cool to be an ass. but she couldn't be a role model either, due to her general crudeness, for that matter. she just liked to complain and rant because it was so unfair to those who were amazing, like her. others didn't know how much she fascinated mr. posen, they couldn't see it in his eyes when he talked to her. but she did. it was a pleasure to watch him trying to understand her - he should've known better, because josephine was a riddle that wasn't meant to be solved. or at least she thought so.

the lecture was nearing its end with every tick of a silver clock on the wall. some students were already packing their bags, hoping for an early release - they should've known better too. they were missing and their minds were fading away too soon and they were lazy, which was unforgivable because sloth is one of the seven dedliest sins (she ignored anger and greed and vanity and enviousness). she kept her brain focused untile the very last second of the lecture and when the ear-splitting bell finally rang, she packed her books and lightly descended down the stairs, stopping near the exit. »hello professor posen,« she greeted the bearded man and chuckled quietly. no doubt he wanted to talk to her.

He's been teaching history of law for a couple years now, but as much as he knew about the thing, he still got nervous before every single lecture. Words flew out of his mouth like crazy though, and he quickly shook the nervousness away when he actually caught a couple of students enjoying his classes. He was fun, yeah, and as far as he knew, there was nothing he could do to make them even better, history of law was, after all, one of the most boring courses around … especially if you weren't interested in law at all. And at least a half of his students weren't, they were here because their parents wanted so, or because someone told them being a lawyer was a well paid job. And then there was Josephine. This girl that carefully copied every single thing off the board, this awfully adorable girl that soaked every word he said in, this girl that fascinated him more than law itself. It was impossible to read her, but hey, he'll get there one day. If he managed to pass the bar exam, he will also figure this tiny blondie out.

He raised his face when she eventually reached him and said the words. Yeah, this was their spot. This was where they'd normally stand and chat for a while, her eyes glued on him, and his drilling into hers, trying to break the shell. But it wasn't giving it, hell no. "Josephine," he smiled with a short nod. "Any questions about today's lecture?" he asked hopefully, but he already knew her answer.
