she woke up suddenly. the first thing she noticed was the weirdly happy state she was in. the second thing were familiar hands which were wrapped around her waist. she was confused for few seconds before everything came back to her and she remembered the previous evening. jem. she carefully turned her head and there he was; covered with the same blanket that she pulled it over their bodies last night before she wished him good night and kissed him before cuddling next to him and falling asleep. it was a weird reunion – oddly romantic somehow, even though she was quite convinced he forgot half of the things he said by the morning. or at least she hoped so. it would be too complicated to deal with those things in the daylight. last night seemed almost like a dream and today… today was a new day. a new day in which she was still wearing his shirt and her hair was a mess. she carefully turned to him and observed his face for few moments before planting a kiss on his lips. ”it’s time to wake up, stranger,” she murmured, her voice still husky from sleeping. she stretched and then gazed at him. did he actually mean any of the things he said yesterday? he was always talking a lot, that much she knew. he was a writer and he used pretty words. she couldn’t help but grin to herself. ”your muse demands your attention,” she exclaimed, teasing him a little before she caught a strand of her hair and pushed it back. it was nice to wake up with him, of course, but then again she wasn’t sure how he felt about… everything. did he change his mind? her whole body tensed up a little when she thought of that and it was also the main reason she remained quiet.
     

she giggled immediately when she heard his words. ”pull yourself together, jem. you are not dying. not even close to it,” she informed him with a smile on her face. yeah, this was much more like jem. last night he was talking nonsense and now he was… complaining, but that still felt more familiar than him talking about marriage and things like that. ”and don’t worry about it, I will get you a pill or something icy,” she added with a reassuring smile on her face. well, she felt the need to do that because he was still her hero. it was funny, she always went on and on about how much she didn’t need anyone to save her and there he was last night, punching a guy just because he called her something inappropriate. it was somehow heroic and also very stupid of him. ”no, jem, no pigs,” she smiled at him and shook her head no. she was quite sure of that. ”and also, marriage? seriously? no, wait,” she said, moving her body so she was lying next to him again and looking him in the eyes. ”do you even remember half the things you were talking about last night?” she grinned, even though there was something in her eyes when she looked at him. she was somehow curious if he will or will not remember everything. or at least some things. it was probably better if he wouldn’t.
     

”oh my god, jem, you seriously need to pull yourself together,” she chuckled. ”yes, it is a bad world out there and there are some pretty crazy people that will always try to hurt you simply because they are pathetic like that, but this time it was your fault. you came running there and you just hit a guy. of course he hit you back,” she said with a smile on her face and carefully touched his poor jaw. ”but yeah, you are right. no one ever hit me like that. I got a couple of bitch slaps, but that is as far as I go,” she shrugged and pressed a careful kiss on his jaw. he pulled her closer in the next moment, kissing her. she had no problem with that, not at all. it was amazing to be with him again like that and he probably had no idea how much all of that meant to her. ”I will try to memorize that,” she said when he told her his room number. she had no doubts she will visit it every now or then. she smiled and looked at him as he spoke again. ”I don’t hate pigs. I just… don’t see them in my future, yes,” she decided. it was also way easier to deal with pigs than with his talk about marriage and god knows what. ”oh,” she said when he got right back to that topic like he would be able to read her thoughts. she was pretty sure he didn’t have that ability. ”okay, you know what? if you are still single when we turn… whatever, pick an age, but the point being: I will marry you.” she had to laugh because the whole deal was ridiculous. he will find himself an amazing girl and she won’t be that girl, that was for sure. she sighed and then looked at him with a smile. ”you can pick one of those things for now, jem,” she smiled widely.
